Rascals Gym is an indoor learning and play gym specializing in:
*Instructional parent/guardian participant and Independent 1 hour classes
*Weekday Non Instructional Open Play
*Summer Camp Program
*Parent’s Survival Camp (a monthly Friday night 3 hour child drop off event)
*Private playgroup sessions
*School field trips
What we do Throughout our 1 hour instructional classes:
We implement and practice the following different developmental skills for your child’s growth and preschool preparation all while playing:
*Fine motor skills
*Gross motor skills
*Learning to sit & participate during circle time
All children participate barefoot
Parents can go barefoot or wear socks but shoes are to be removed upon entering the facility
We recommend comfortable clothing for all and to avoid long dresses, shirts or skirts
(they can trip on them while climbing)
CLASS MAKEUP RULES EFFECTIVE 10/18/20:
Pkg. 1-6 pricing pays for 7 weeks & you get the 8th week for free.
This allows you to makeup any classes missed between weeks 1-7
Week 8 is a use or lose week & can’t be made up since it is FREE
Secondary classes are use or lose. They can’t be made up. Please make sure you choose which class you will be able to attend the most as your secondary class leaving the primary class as the class you are more likely to miss and can makeup
Each missed class can be used for any other scheduled class for the same age range or for any 2 regularly scheduled open play visits during the session dates that you are registered for
(open play makeups can be done only during Monday through Friday regularly scheduled open play hours and excludes Saturday-Sunday, holiday or special event open play dates)
Class makeups CAN be transferred to siblings of child enrolled with makeups on file and may be used for classes or open plays with the same restrictions as listed above.
Class makeups can ONLY be transferred to the next session immediately following the session you missed classes in and can ONLY be transferred with the purchase of that next session. Anyone that has makeups on file and chooses not to enroll in the next session will lose those makeups and no longer have the option to make them up in the future.

HOW TO JOIN RASCALS GYM
Rascals Gym offers a one time drop in class as a non member to try out a class without the obligation of having to pay the registration fee. The fee for the class is $20/child. If you decide to register for classes going forward the cost of the registration fee is $30 per family and once paid is never to be paid again.

Children can join our program at anytime during an active session and prices will be prorated based on how many classes are left in the current session.
CLASS & OPEN PLAY SESSIONS START & RUN EVERY 5-8 CONSECUTIVE WEEKS
You can join at ANY time during an active session and the classes will be prorated based on how many classes are left in that session. All children that attend class sessions need to be a
registered member after their initial trial class.

HISTORY of RASCALS GYM
Rascals Gym is a unique children’s gym that began in Fairfield, Connecticut in 1984 and has been located in Hamden Connecticut since 1992. The gym is designed to help children learn to play with a purpose. Movement, sensory motor experiences, and socialization are an integral part in the development of the young child. Our goal is to encourage our participants to explore and expand their motor skills in our warm, caring, non competitive environment. Rascals Gym’s programs not only enhances essential physical skills, but also increases a child’s self esteem. Rascals Gym enables kids and their parents to spend quality time together. Rascals Gym provides clean, safe & colorful equipment that is appropriate to all the children within our listed age ranges.
Throughout the years, Rascals Gym has been involved with many causes such as
M.A.D.D., Read to Grow, Toys for Tots, clothing, food & toiletry drives for the New Haven Men’s Emergency Shelter, Thanksgiving pie donations to a church in Wallingford for their homeless dinner, food donations to St. Ann’s Pantry in Hamden, snack & drink donations to the staff workers at YNHH along with successful fundraisers for
Hope for Hunter & The Late Lea Doran.
